a downtown pensacola afternoon....and a fabulous wedding!

okay, everyone will agree it was a tad on the chilly side, but, wow....what a beautiful day for a wedding! in fact, i believe the bride was hoping for a cold day... no disappointment there. and in the midst of my shivering, i was just happy to be tagging along with my friend & fabulous photographer nicki smith. i had the honor to second shoot for this wedding of her co-worker/friend's daughter's wedding, who also happens to be my neighbor & friend too (did you follow that? i think i confused myself) anyway, we both know sue (the mother-of-the-bride) so it was fun & couldn't have been a more perfect day...

meet mike.
meet mike's buddies...
now meet mandi....she was a glowing, gorgeous bride!
my faaaaavorite :)

off to the reception and then to live happily ever after :)

thanks, sue for this opportunity! i loved every minute of being a part of such a special day :)

gorgeous family + gorgeous pensacola beach = fabulous pictures!!!

i cannot express to you how much fun i had out at pensacola beach on saturday afternoon. i think a squeal and a jump in the air might do it - but i'm not sure how to put that on the blog. this family is really so dear to my heart... i met half of them oh, about 17 years ago at college? really? and saturday was such a fun little reunion - it felt like not a day passed by since we were at school. YET, sooooo many days have. but they are still the same wonderful people i remember then, today, and ten years from now. truly wonderful amazing people. i love them. it warms my heart.... like this coffee i'm sipping on right now is warming my tummy :)

so, yes, i had fun. not only were they fabulous to hang with, but look at these amazing pictures! not to mention look at the amazing sunset!!!! WOW. it was just magnificent. it just reminds me that the Lord is the Master Artist... i am truly in awe of Him.

before i forget

well, i realized it's almost thanksgiving and i've got to get these adorable trick-or-treating pictures up before christmas! and i did have some adorable ones - it was such a fun night for the kiddos. especially with daddy as a bear. did i mention we went to gatlinburg for vacation and saw a bear on our hike? with the girls. 45 min. into the trail. no one around. no sounds of cars or even the stream. AND it was a mommy bear w/her cub. yikes. lets just say my heart almost beat right out of my chest - it actually hurt. but that's another story for another time. how about when i post pics from my vacation.... which i'll get to someday :) but for now - that's where the bear mask came from. fond memories :)

my little ham... actually she can barely contain herself while taking pictures - she's got candy on the brain... avery has no clue yet. but she will. oh, she will.

now there's a nice smile... oh, she just wants the candy. do you like my spooky eyes in the tree?
awww.... my favorite :)
we spotted the neighborhood bear behind a tree. this is a rare sighting.

she'll probably make me delete this picture when she gets older, but this was SO HER that night... just the happy princess, marching ahead w/her daddy bear, licking her lips thinking of all the wonderful candy she was going to eat :) it just makes me laugh.

and there was avery learning for the first time that this trick-or-treating thing was pretty fun :)

we picked up alissa's little friend adyson, and then they were off. the 3 princesses ruling the neighborhood.

stay tuned for my exciting gatlinburg adventure post :) i've got pictures to prove the bear sighting! check back soon :)

my first official wedding

yes, i am now able to say i have shot a wedding! i had the fabulous honor to second shoot for my amazing friend & photographer nicki smith, and got quite a few just beautiful images. the couple was very calm and easy-going. the whole energy of the event was just happy and relaxed. i completely forgot about being nervous and just enjoyed being there while capturing the day for them. i even ended up helping do the bride's hair (i'm the oldest of 4 girls and let me tell you, i can work hair), helped decorate the tables, and in the midst of the action, i pulled a sand spur from nicki's foot. it reminded me of kelly ripa in those whirlpool commericals where she does the laundry, hosts the party, throws the kids juice and snacks, all while being perfect and glamourous. ha! i love that commercial. so, stop me from rambling and back to the wedding. aside from being quite windy & chilly, it really was so gorgeous out there at pensacola beach. here are some pics i'd like to share with you....

so sweet!

what super sweet sisters! i just love how they all love each other so much :) this family is actually very near and dear to my heart - their littlest girl is my alissa's "best friend" and my avery just loves her too. and i've known mommy & daddy for YEARS now, i mean, since my first year of college... which i won't disclose the year right now, but we'll just say it was quite a few years ago. (yikes) so, i had so much fun laughing and playing with these girls out at pensacola beach. i'm pretty sure they had a blast too :)

then we got some really cute christmas card shots :) those will make some CUTE cards!
